Connecting with Quassel
Quassel is an open-source, cross-platform IRC client.
- From the menu, select
File
→Networks
→Configure Networks...
.
Attach:quassel-menu.png - Click on
Add
.

Manually specify network settings

: fill in the network name you want to connect to.Server address
: fill in your bouncer server address, which should look like example.ircnow.org.Port
: 31337Server password
: fill inusername/network:password
. For example, if your username isjohn
, the network you want to connect to isircnow
, and your password isabcde12345
, then fill injohn/ircnow:abcde12345
.- Check
Use encrypted connection
. - Check
Verify connection security
. - Click
OK
at the bottom-right corner.
- To the right of the
Identity
combo box, to the right of where it saysDefault Identity
, there is a square button. Click on that to edit your identity.

Real Name
andNicknames
so that they match the bouncer username you registered. - If you see a message saying ZNC is not yet connected, type
/znc connect
-- wait a few minutes to connect.
